Rev Mandy Sayers comes to Saxapahaw from Glen Mar United Methodist Church in Ellicott City, Maryland, where she served as the lead pastor for seven years. She earlier served churches in Montgomery Village and Waldorf, Maryland.

Mandy is a graduate of Duke University and earned a J.D. degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law, and her M.Div. degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC, where she has been an instructor and adjunct professor.

She loves preaching, writing, and pastoring. She’s contributed to several great projects as a pastor, including an appearance on Day1.org and writing for the CEB Women’s Study Bible and the Upper Room Disciplines. She’s taught preaching classes with Course of Study and the License to Preach School.

Before this career, she was a lawyer, who had the great blessing of working for the Legal Aid Bureau in Maryland. She enjoys finding the right words to say true and transcendent things about God and life. When she’s not working, you’ll find her hanging out with her husband of 30+ years and 2 grown kids.
